In the moments before the attack, TJ Brown was the only person on the entire Hugon University campus who was listening to music. This was no coincidence.
TJ wasn’t trying to be unique. He didn’t even know that there was anything special about listening to music that morning. But there was, which made him the primary target of an international conspiracy which he wanted nothing to do with. He also wanted nothing to do with the governor’s plan for TJ to undertake a quest to foil this conspiracy, but he wasn’t in a position to refuse, was he?
He wasn’t. Which means he will have to reluctantly, grumpily, move his tail from Hugonia to Mt. Huggleface, trying not to burn anyone with his half-dragon breath along the way. And, thanks to encounters with elves, vampires, trolls, silly humans, pixies, demons, talking bears, gods, monsters, and Doris, keeping his cool will not be easy.
Fortunately for TJ, he will not need to be calm all of the time. He also won’t need to be a hero all the time. But he will need to be a hero at least some of the time, or he may not have the freedom to be grumpy ever again.
